Job title: Accountant (1)

Reports to: Medical Director

Location: Kampala

Main Tasks and Responsibilities   

1. Administration/ Management

  • Strategic analysis and supporting strategic planning

  • Developing and managing financial systems/models that are in line with the overall strategic objective

  • Enforcing financial strategies and regulations.


2. People Management

  • Managing finance, and accounting teams, and ensuring efficiency and accuracy in their workflows.

  • Implementing measures for staff improvement in your department.

  • Prepare and effect staff payments in time.


3. Budgeting and Reporting

  • Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, and financial statements within the required time periods.

  • Reporting to stakeholders and board members.

  • Controlling income, cash flow and expenditure

  •  Answer/ report all audit queries and inquiries.


4. Additional work

  • Preparing and reconciling bank statements to iron out discrepancies with other accounts documents especially cash books.

  • Any other duties and responsibilities as may be deemed fit by the Medical Director  


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Financial accounting system to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and auditing procedures.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

  • Make and analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.

  • Assist with financial and tax audits.

  • Preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.

  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.

  • Identify and provide solutions to improve work processes, enhance quality, productivity, and service.

  • Utilize reporting tools to gain operational insight in order to assist in identifying problems and possible resolutions.

  • Preparation of financial packet with statistics for review by Hospital Management team and the Board of Directors. 

  • Follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations for annual audit.

  • Accounting for Fixed Asset transactions and adjustments.

  • Maintain communications and coordination with other accounting team to gather financial information used to prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.

  • Cost Accounting Analysis and reporting as needed.

  • Create/update work instructions/job aids to ensure understanding of the processes and procedures.

  • Function as the primary contact for external fiscal audits.

  • Act as a lead worker to other staff in the department.

  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Hospital Management



University Degree in Accountancy or financial management, B.COM, BBA etc

Desirable Part or a complete Level of ACCA or CPA.


  • At least three years’ experience in finance and accounting.

  • Extensive experience in preparing and managing significant budgets with diverse streams of income and expenditure.

  • Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, preferably Tally.

  • Experience in designing and delivering finance, policies and systems.

  • Experience in analyzing financial data and communicating to non-finance staff.

Job Title: Sales and Marketing Executive
Organization: Kampala Medical Chambers Hospital (KMCH).

Reports to: Medical Directors.

We work hard to protect our reputation for excellence ni providing all manner of health care services for both out-patient and in-patient clients of all ages.

Sales and Marketing Executive Responsibilities:
• Designing, implementing and preparing marketing plans for increasing patient's acquisition and developing leads through contacts with communities, organizations, hospitals, insurances and other referral sources.
• Coordinating contract negotiations with hospitalsand insurance companies.
• Identifying customers' needs and recommending company products that best fulfill those needs.
Developing and maintaining client relations with organizations and community groups to promote the Hospital and Hospital Services/market new services of the Hospital.
Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts, and associated documentation. Develop, draft and distribute media releases/advertisements that meet the marketing strategy of the Hospital and that comply with set policy guidelines.

Researching competitors' products, pricing, and market success.
Preparing sales reports as well as territoryanalyses and submitting them to management. Conducting market research on rival products.
Working with the hospital team to develop targetedsales strategies. Tracking sales data to ensure the company meets sales quotas.

Oualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant must hold a Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any other
related field from a recognized institution.
• Proven work experience as a Sales and Marketing executive.
• Knowledge of modern marketing techniques/have passion for sales
• High-level communication and networking skills.
• Understanding of commercial trends and marketing strategies for hospitals.
• Excellent interpersonal skills/have ability to work well under pressure.
